GLAD to report Ryanair has been doing its bit for dignity in the workplace.

The airline’s deputy chief executive, Michael Cawley, paid a flying visit to Liverpool John Lennon Airport yesterday to lambast Chancellor Alistair Darling’s air passenger duty proposals. The talkative Irishman found time to show off his company’s latest philanthropic exploit.

The Girls of Ryanair Cabin Crew Charity Calendar features 13 of the airline’s loveliest hostesses posing, scantily clad (see Miss Control Tower, below), in the name of . . . well, it doesn’t actually say which charity. But it does state the glamorous shoot took place on location at Barcelona Reus Airport.

Gives a new meaning to the term no-frills airline.

CONGRATULATIONS to Downtown Liverpool In Business chairman Frank McKenna for causing a collective cringe at DLIB’s Liverpool Awards ceremony last week.

Frank and a number of his entourage appeared in a video, specially prepared for the evening, showing them dressing up as former Scouse chart-toppers Frankie Goes to Hollywood and performing the number one hit, Relax.

As the performance hit the big screen, some revellers are believed to have crawled under the tables, put their hands over their ears and cried: “Please make it stop.”

However, the audience were begging for more after local comic John Bishop took to the stage and proceeded to embark on a searing but hilarious character assassination of Frank.

IT WASN’T on the official accolade list, but we’re sure, had there been a “growing lad” award, then McKenna’s tailor, Carl Emery, would surely have been the clear winner.

You see, the three-course meal wasn’t enough for Carl.

Noticing the empty seat next to him, he asked the waitress for a second main course and pudding.

We’ve no doubt he was on the treadmill the next morning to work it all off.
