A CORPORATE training course with a difference is being offered by business trainers Paula Harrington and Bryan Adams.

Take A Stand offers corporate presentation skills training, teaching participants the art of presentation through comedy.

They have hired comedian Sully O’Sullivan (pictured) to prepare a group of local lawyers and accountants to take to the stage and attempt to make people laugh at a special comedy night at the Albert Dock’s Baby Blue on July 10.

Accountant-turned-professional and personal development coach Carol McLachlan, from Oxton, is currently halfway through the course.

“A lot of it is about dispelling the myth that accountants are all boring people who need Powerpoint slides,” she said

Yes Carol, that is indeed a myth. We at Trading Gossip know only too well that accountants can be just as boring without their Powerpoint slides.

IT IS heartening to know that despite the economic downturn, the newly-formed Liverpool Vision is leading the charge to bring inward investment to the city.

Why only last week a businessman found out for himself how the organisation is working around the clock to drive forward Liverpool’s economic renaissance.

“Good afternoon,” the entrepreneur said to a polite lady who answered the phone at Vision at around 5.10pm. “I’d like to speak to one of your team dealing with inward investment please.”

“I’m sorry,” replied the lady, “but they’ve all gone home for the day – can you call back tomorrow?”
