Yorkshire House re-opens after £2m refit

Yorkshire House

YORKSHIRE House, in Chapel Street, Liverpool, has re-opened its doors this week after a £2m refurbishment.

Built in 1926, the elegant limestone building, originally the headquarters of the Yorkshire Building Society, had been unoccupied for some years until it was acquired in spring 2006 by a development partnership of Arrowcroft, Faircroft and Ethel Austin Properties.

Keen to give the beautiful landmark building a new lease of life, the partnership refurbished the property and created 25,000sq ft of office space.

The refurbishment included an extensive and sensitive renovation of the inside of the building to create office accommodation throughout, and a new penthouse suite offering views over the city.

Spanning over seven floors, Yorkshire House provides high specification office suites with floor areas available from 1,585 sq ft to 3,332 sq ft.

Other features include new sub-basement parking for 14 cars; new passenger lifts from the sub-basement parking to the seventh floor, comfort cooling throughout and fully automated WC suites.

The building is at the core of Liverpool’s commercial district, close to Old Hall Street with easy access to Moorfields Station and James Street Station.

Chris Connor, director of the property’s sole letting agents, Mason Owen said: “This is a fabulous building in a superb location, right in the heart of Liverpool’s commercial district.

“We have been delighted to be involved in this instruction to restore this well known property and provide more refurbished office space in the city centre of Liverpool with the added advantage of some car parking.

“We already have had a number of interested parties who have viewed the building.”
