NORTH West industrial agents and other dignitaries from across Liverpool gathered to celebrate the completion of Langtree’s speculative development of Wellington Employment Park South.
The first phase, which forms part of larger mixed-use office and industrial development in north Liverpool, has been developed in partnership with Liverpool Land Development Company (LLDC), Northshore SIA and national regeneration agency English Partnerships.
The first phase comprises 15 new industrial units totalling 54,797 sq ft, ranging in size from 1,500 to 8,423 sq ft.
The second phase is already under way and is due for completion in February, 2008. When completed, the scheme will total 108,347 sq ft over an eight-acre site. This phase of the development has already attracted strong interest with a 33,500 sq ft letting to Greenberg Glass Group.
Stephen Barnes, North West regional development director at Langtree, said: “The development has already proved hugely popular which is testament to the quality of the accommodation.
“Langtree has again worked alongside numerous partners to deliver a scheme, which all partners can be rightfully proud. We look forward to completing the other phases of the development.”
Wellington Employment Park South has been partially funded through contributions from the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) and the Merseyside Objective 1 European regeneration programme.
To celebrate the opening, all the project partners and guests gathered at the site to take part in a virtual golf competition and the highest scorer, Brian Ricketts, of Hitchcock Wright & Partners, won a pair of tickets to The Open Championship in 2008, at Royal Birkdale.
Cllr Warren Bradley, Leader of Liverpool City Council, who unveiled a plaque to for the Phase I launch, also attended.
