PROPERTY company Downing has unveiled the £2m new look for the entrance to Liverpool’s largest office building.
The grand reception at The Capital, the former Royal & Sun Alliance headquarters, is the latest phase of the company’s £10m refurbishment project to be completed.
Its unveiling foll- ows the announce- ment that Liverpool Vision has taken 12,000 sq ft suite in the landmark building.
Architects KKA have designed the new reception using glass and stainless steel features to bring an elegant, highly contemporary look and feel to the space.
Three chandeliers, which were features of the original recep- tion, have been refur- bished and relocated to form an impres- sive reception area feature.
Behind the escalators, a 40 ft high art installation, comprising 150 components of coloured acrylic and stainless steel, has been installed to form a striking backdrop to the new foyer.
John Clegg, head of property management at Downing, said: “The recent letting success has confirmed The Capital as one of the most important business addresses in the city.
“We have created a reception that embodies this status and the building’s transformation into a vibrant, cosmopolitan business centre.”
