SOUTHPORT property development company AMZME Partnership has acquired a business park in the town in an £800,000 deal.
With backing from NatWest, AMZME has bought the former BT telephone exchange site in Crowland Street. The 14,000 sq ft site was built in the 1960s and provides a mix of office, warehousing and commercial accommodation.
The property, which is part of the larger Blowick Business Park complex, is home to a number of local companies including food manufacturing firm Ravendale and Kitchequip, a kitchen equipment distributor.
At present accommodation is only available on half of the site and AMZME is considering re-developing the southern part of the site to increase the accommodation available.
The firm’s portfolio comprises several residential and commercial developments in the Southport area including the York Homes development scheme in Birkdale and the Cable Street development in Formby.
The latter is one of the largest to be released in the Formby area for more than 20 years.
AMZME managing director Marcel Zachariah, said: “This is a well-established site that has good transport links and is within easy reach of Southport town centre.
“It has great potential and we are considering developing part of the site to enhance the size and quality of accommodation.”
Funding for the project was provided by the property finance team at NatWest in Liverpool. Andy Webster, relationship manager from NatWest, said: “Marcel is an experienced and well-regarded property developer having delivered many schemes in the area.”
