Bootle church up for auction

SUTTON Kersh’s second property auction of 2008 takes place at noon on Thursday at the Marriott Hotel in Liverpool city centre with 93 lots going under the hammer. Total sales from the February Auction exceeded £5m and 85% of the 82 lots on offer were sold.

The bidding this week will open with the English Presbyterian Church in Bootle. The 18th century building ceased to operate as a church six months ago due to depleted congregation numbers and lack of funding.

Sutton Kersh has highlighted it as suitable for redevelopment subject to the necessary planning consents.

Director James Kersh said: “With the banks and the stock market faltering, property is a desirable investment for people and I am predicting another successful auction.”
