CADDICK Developments has started work on an 87,000 sq ft speculative development of industrial and business units at Penrhyn Road, on Knowsley Business Park.
Units will be available to let or to buy, and will be ready from December, 2008.
This latest development will provide up to 10 separate units, all of which may be combined to suit individual needs, and catering for anything from 5,000 to 22,500 sq ft.
The high-specification light industrial units will have approximately 10% office space, seven metre eaves and generous yard and parking areas on a self- contained, secure site.
Myles Hartley, director of Caddick Developments, said: “We know this location very well indeed, having first developed in Knowsley back in 1997.
“We are building an excellent quality product here in a great location, and are already seeing a high level of interest from potential occupiers.”
Part of the Leeds-based Caddick Group, Caddick Developments has already been responsible for creating more than 1m sq ft of light industrial space in Knowsley.
Most of the space has been sold to local occupiers including Manesty (pharmaceuticals), Smith and Bateson (packaging), Total Glass (window frames) and Clifford James (mail order).
Formed 28 years ago, the group now has 50 active subsidiary and joint venture companies and employs about 700 people. Its development pipeline has an end value in excess of £1.8bn.
The Knowsley project is being part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
