PRIORITY Sites has installed the first wind turbine at its £14m Vesty Business Park, in Merseyside.
The company claims the turbines, being installed on 21 individual business units, will generate up to 10% of the entire 155,000 sq ft development’s energy supply.
The commercial park on Bridle Road, Aintree, is due for completion in June and is proving popular with Merseyside businesses.
Prior to completion, the developer has announced 30,000 sq ft of the high quality commercial space is already under offer.
In addition to the use of renewable energy sources, the developer has committed to an extensive tree-planting programme and laid out a green travel plan.
Area development manager for Priority Sites, Murray Carr, said: “There is an increasing demand for commercial accommodation that responds to the environment and it is vital both developers and occupiers take strides towards reducing their carbon footprint.”
Later this year, Priority Sites will start work on an £11m “green” office development, Senate Business Park, also on Bridle Road, to complement the existing commercial premises at Vesty Business Park.
The new 80,000 sq ft Senate Business Park will also boast similar green credentials.
Priority Sites has so far completed 255,000 sq ft of commercial accommodation across the North West, most recently at Turnstone Business Park, Widnes, and Brookfield Business Park, Aintree.
