LIVERPOOL’S Sutton Kersh Auctions is to become the first auction house in the UK to try out real-time online bidding.
The new concept will open the company’s auction room to property investors from all over the world.
It will enable someone in Singapore to buy a property from the London auction room as easily as someone sitting in front of the auctioneer.
Online bidders are treated in exactly the same way as proxy bidders and telephone bidders. Before the auction the online bidder will be required to register with an online bidding form.
The bidder will be required to sign the form and then fax, scan or post it to the auction house with a deposit cheque and a copy of some form of identification.
THE latest Smith and Sons property auction, at the Village Hotel, Bromborough, on July 16 bucked the trend by selling 17 out of 30 lots at or above the reserve figures.
