THE latest phase in the regeneration of the Widnes Waterfront has been reached on schedule.
Forward Partnership celebrated completing the external construction of its £2.4m Forward Point development by inviting North West Member of the European Parliament, Arlene McCarthy, to tour the site.
The scheme, part-funded with £596,000 from the European Union, is creating 16,500 sq ft of office space across three new glass and brick-clad buildings.
Ms McCarthy said: “It’s fantastic to see European funding in action in Widnes. Forward Point will play a key role in the regeneration of the area by delivering the kind of high- quality commercial space vital to attracting businesses and creating new jobs.”
Work has now begun on the internal fit-out of the three buildings which boast panoramic views of the Mersey Estuary.
Situated at the junction of Tan House Lane and Moss Bank, Forward Point will help regenerate south Widnes and create up to 100 new jobs.
