SMITH and Sons have pre-let 32,000 sq ft of office space in a former Victorian train station in Wirral.
Previously occupied by Littlewoods, Shorelines in Woodside will be transformed into Grade A accommodation, with structural warranty providers, MD Insurance, becoming a tenant.
Many of the original features are to be restored – the original brickwork is to be carefully exposed, double height spaces to be reintroduced and the ironwork exposed and refurbished to its original glory.
MD Insurance is an international insurance company that is currently based in Wirral and have chosen to expand its operation.
The move has been welcomed by WiN, Wirral’s public and private sector networking partnership, of which Smith and Sons is a founder member.
WiN chairman Jim Wilkie said: “Investment on this scale is great news for Wirral at a time of general economic difficulty.
“Smith and Sons is a long-established company that has been a key player in the borough’s commercial property sector for many years. This project typifies the type of high-end, landmark scheme that the company continues to be involved in.”
