SUTTON Kersh last week raised £3.4m from its latest Liverpool property auction, with 60% of the 87 lots on offer being sold.
The auction commenced with some “frantic” bidding for a redevelopment opportunity on Highgate Street, in Wavertree. The lot comprised four vacant town houses and had a guide price of £110,000. After a 20-minute bidding war between numerous bidders, the lot eventually sold for £205,000 – £95,000 above its guide price.
Sutton Kersh’s final auction of 2008 will take place on Thursday, December 4, at the Marriott Hotel, in Queen Square.
A TOP auctioneer has been appointed by property auction house MPA for its next property auction.
Guy Charrison is a Fellow of the auction industry’s national body, the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA).
Mr Charrison last year sold more than £100m- worth of property at auctions all over the country. He runs auction courses for NAVA nationally and has almost 30 years’ experience in the property business.
He will be raising the gavel for MPA’s second auction, at the Crowne Plaza, in Speke, on December 3. Closing date for submissions is October 29.
