KPMG is delighted to sponsor the prestigious Business of the Year Award for the fourth time.
Exciting times certainly lie ahead for Merseyside.
With less than 12 months to go before Liverpool becomes European Capital of Culture, the pace of change and the sheer buzz around our city is plain for all to see.
But, while we really are starting to capitalise upon the region's reputation as a vibrant and exciting place to do business, we must not be complacent. Despite our growing economy now being worth around £17bn, Liverpool is still very much in the early stages of the growth cycle. As such, local businesses really must take advantage of planned improvements to the local infrastructure, such as the Kings Waterfront and Edge Lane Project, as well as the explosive growth in office and commercial property.
Supporting the Regional Business Awards was an easy decision for us at KPMG. Celebrating the accomplishments of those who contribute to the economic success of Merseyside is vital. The awards help to produce a feel-good factor and allow us to showcase our achievements way beyond the boundaries of the area.
As ever, the judges had a difficult task in selecting both the shortlisted and winning businesses.
We were struck by the quality and diversity of the entries and, for the KPMG Business of the Year category, in particular, it was pleasing to note that, despite recent tough times, many of the entrants have demonstrated impressive growth, which can only be good news for both the Merseyside and North West economies.
Let's congratulate the winners, toast their success and reflect on the massive contributions that you all make to this wonderful city.
