Online advice for import and export matters

BUSINESS Link has continued to expand the infor- mation available for importers and exporters at its online international trade portal.

A free version of the UK Trade Tariff, which provides commodity codes to classify goods for export and import, is now available at businesslink.gov. uk/international trade.

It includes a browse and search facility that will allow users to classify their goods and quickly find detailed information such as commodity descriptions, duty rates, VAT and excise rates, preferential agreements, government controls and explanatory notes for any commodity in the UK Trade Tariff. There will be daily data updates from the EU TARIC database and the HMRC CHIEF system.

The site has also recently added nearly 60 new international trade guides, with the site now hosting more than 150 guides.

Business Link believes the site will save businesses time and money by hosting essential up-to-date information on international trade.
