AN ARCHITECTURAL technology student from a Southport practice has won his second national award in a year.
Stephen Ferguson, 22, picked up his second Future Vision student design award in the last 12 months at a glitzy ceremony in London.
Mr Ferguson, who is studying at UCL, in Preston, is on a gap year at Southport’s NJSR.
He won the Future Building category for his design for expand-able apartments using flats with temporary, foldaway and adaptable rooms. He won a trophy and a £1,000 cash prize.
“After spending the past three years on campus in student halls, I had become accustomed to residing in a smaller space, without feeling cramp-ed or claustrophobic,” he said.
Mr Ferguson last year scooped the award in the Future Work category for a design combining a shopping centre and apartments.
NJSR partner David Bailey said: “We’re delighted Stephen has won another Future Vision award.”
