Spray-on heating element scoops Innovation Award

A FIRM that has developed an energy efficient spray-on heating element was yesterday announced as the annual winner of the Merseyside Innovation Awards.

In a ceremony at Liverpool’s Crowne Plaza Hotel, the judges listened to presentations from the three finalists – Honey Sport, 2D Heat and Acal Energy – and then chose 2D Heat as the overall winner.

The finalists were selected from the monthly winners over the past 12 months. 2D Heat will receive £10,000 and £4,000 in business support.

Managing director John Lewis said: “The value of the publicity and prestige from the Merseyside Innovation Awards cannot be under-estimated for a small company like ourselves.”

An interview with Mr Lewis and with awards founder Brian McCann, of corporate finance firm Vanguard, can be heard on the LDP BusinessWeek radio show at 11am this Sunday, on CityTalk 105.9fm.
