Accountants in expansion

LIVERPOOL accountants Edward Robinson & Co (ERC) has taken over Chester-based Westmore Brennand.

The enlarged practice, which includes all Westmore Brennand staff, has five partners and 19 fee earners working on a client base primarily in the North West and North Wales.

The deal is part of a growth strategy that has already seen ERC expand into tax and business advisory services in addition to traditional accountancy services.

ERC will gain the Westmore Brennand client base and specialist staff covering new areas of financial expertise.

Richard Brown, a partner at ERC, said: “ERC is reinventing itself as a business advisory service that helps firms maximise efficiency in the way they plan and run their operations, as well as providing traditional accountancy services.

“This acquisition gives us better resources so we can provide clients with an improved, more proactive, one-to-one service.”

ERC, based at Liverpool’s Brunswick Business Park, will continue to use Westmore Brennand’s premises at Chester Enterprise Centre while looking for a bigger site in the city.
