Merger complete for two law firms

TWO Warrington law firms have completed a merger that will create one of the top 20 law firms in the North.

Forshaws Solicitors and Davies Ridgway Solicitors have joined forces to create Forshaws Davies Ridgway with 150 staff and 18 partners.

The new practice has a head office in Warrington town centre and branch offices in Frodsham and Stockton Heath.

Senior member of the new firm John Spittle said: “We are now on a different plateau and have much greater expertise across a broader spectrum of legal specialisms,” he added.

Conveyancing specialist Michelle Fisher said: “There are more opportunities for us being bigger – we can compete with the bigger firms in Manchester and Liverpool. Now we have got that back-up to offer clients more support.”

Commercial property member John Hodd said: “With a bigger organisation we have more experts and other fields of expertise. Law services are changing.”
