WEBSITE design company New Mind says a website it created for Liverpool’s Tall Ships festival received a record number of unique visitors.
The Liverpool firm specialises in tourism and visitor attraction sites and was asked to create www.tallships-liverpool.co.uk for the event earlier this month.
On July 21, the site attracted 19,849 unique visitors – smashing its previous record for the most unique visitors in a single day to one of its sites.
Altogether, the Tall Ships site pulled in 76,659 unique visitors between July 17 and July 21.
New Mind’s previous record related to its flagship tourism website visitliverpool.com which attracted 11,000 unique visitors on the day of the launch for the city’s Capital of Culture year.
The eagerly anticipated Tall Ships festival was hailed one of the key events of the Liverpool 08 Capital of Culture Celebrations, as well as marking the Liverpool’s 800 year maritime history.
New Mind also saw a surge in visitors to its websites englandsgolfcoast.com and visitsouthport.com as Southport hosted the world famous Open Tournament this month.
The tournament saw Englandsgolfcoast.com’s traffic double to an average of 1,000 unique visitors a day, whilst Visitsouthport.com had over 5,000 unique visitors a day.
New Mind has established a major share of the UK tourism market with its acclaimed Destination Management System.
Director Richard Veal said: “We set out to present the Tall Ships website in a style that would not only provide concise information about the festival, but compel visitors to see the spectacular event for themselves.
“Naturally we are delighted with these unique visitor numbers.”
The firm, based at the Queens Dock Business Centre, also triumphed in The Liverpool Daily Post’s Regional Business Awards this month, walking away with The 02 Small Business of the Year accolade.
