Building firm scoops top health and safety award

CHESTER builder Rok has scooped an international award for its commitment to health and safety.

The International Safety Award was given to Rok by the British Safety Council following a rigorous examination of the company’s practices by a strict independent adjudicating panel.

The award highlights Rok’s commitment to further improving the health and safety culture within the organisation, including its safety policies and plans.

Among its latest initiatives is a policy that all those working in situations where they might be at risk of injuring or damaging their hands must wear gloves.

Shaun Davis, director for safety, health & environment, accepted the award at a ceremony in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
