Centre’s staff vie for Europe-wide award

STAFF at a Merseyside-based call centre have high hopes of an award.

For the Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank’s international payment services call centre is a finalist in the European Call Centre Awards 2008 for Best Small Call Centre.

The specialist centre in Bootle is headed by manager Collette McCombe.

The team provides retail and corporate customers with a range of payment services.

These include cross-border money transmission via the bank’s membership of the EuroGiro network. As part of the bank’s international services department the team also provides information and other help to customers on different methods of sending or receiving payments from overseas.

The European Call Centre Awards aim to reward call centres that provide a positive impact on their entire company.

The awards also highlight call centres which show a positive environment for staff, with well-thought-out training, feedback and incentives.
