Contract for crash assistance

CHESHIRE technology group Eagle-i Holdings has won a contract with AXA Group subsidiary AXA Assistance.

The Alternative Investment Market-listed company, based in Runcorn and formerly known as Eagle Eye Telematics, will supply technology to help AXA Assistance quickly find the nearest breakdown and recovery vehicle to any customer who phones it after a collision.

The system will also help AXA give the customer a more accurate arrival time.

AXA will use the system in 13 European countries and says Eagle-i will help it meet the needs of the e-Call scheme.

This is a European Commission-led project to bring rapid help to motorists after collisions anywhere in the European Union.

The same technology will also be used in AXA Assistance’s medical and home help businesses.
