STAFF from the Liverpool office of solicitors Weightmans are volunteering at next week’s World Firefighter Games 2008 (WFG08).
The 11 volunteers will be helping out in a variety of roles including driving, accreditation, meeting and greeting competitors and overall administration.
The games will feature 60 sporting events over 10 days, starting on August 25, attracting more than 5,000 competitors from all over the world.
Lucy Donaldson, Weightmans’ business development co-ordinator, said: “When I heard that volunteers were needed for the WFG08, I instantly signed up. It’s a great way to get involved in the games, assist new visitors to the city and have fun along the way.
“I can honestly say that I amŠ giving something back to the city.”
The volunteers have Šeach been given Štwo fully-paid days to assist event organisers.
David Lewis, head of Weightmans' Liverpool office said: “As gold sponsors, we are happy to pledge our time and effort to make it an excellent event for participants andŠ spectators alike.”
