FLEDGLING entrepreneurs presented their ideas before a panel of potential investors in the latest Dreamcatchers Liverpool event.
Dreamcatchers Liverpool is the idea of Peter Lunt, NatWest Commercial Banking in Liverpool, and Steve Sealey, founder of Aquarius Equity Partners.
They teamed up with Northwest Business Angels for the event held at Liverpool Science park.
Those presenting their ideas included:
Steve Kelly, SmartKem. A start- up, pioneering a new process for creating lightweight, low-cost electronics onto thin films and other substrates. Led by an entrepreneur who is an experienced chief executive in applied technology start-ups;
Warren Lunt, Golf Travel Systems. Internet-based service enabling golf courses to sell tee time online in real-time. Has developed sales channels and has established technology partners;
Stuart McCrae, 121 Computer Support. A trading company providing computer network diagnostic and support hardware and maintenance services;
Paul Webb, Paulo Corporation. Has developed a branded/patent protected product to be used before and after swimming that protects against irritation and reaction to chemicals in pools. Looking to launch internationally;
Paul Rawlings, ScreenReach. A technology company with a system to enable content on digital screens to be tailored to the audience present – a targeted delivery presentation platform. The product is ready and into trial phase in the retail and hospitality sectors.
Dr Sarah Tasker, chief executive of Liverpool Science Park, said: “As a business with a mission to grow the city’s knowledge economy, Liverpool Science Park supports DreamCatchers Liverpool because it is a key vehicle for young companies and entrepreneurs to attract investment and showcase their products.”
Although the forum’s ultimate aim is to assist the companies to raise the capital they require, it is also about providing them with access to a network of highly successful individuals.
