Firm chooses Runcorn for second site

AN ENGINEERING firm has chosen to locate its second site in Runcorn’s Manor Park.

Glamal Engineering, which supplies carbon and stainless pipes, fittings and flanges, will house 500 tonnes of stock at its 27,000 sq ft facility.

It will establish a second base to support its Teeside headquarters, where it employs 70 people, and is projected to add £2.4m to the company’s turnover. Seven full-time members of staff will be based at Runcorn.

Steve Tewkesbury, manager of the Runcorn site said: “Runcorn was the perfect location for our new base in the North West as it has superb accessibility via the Mersey Gateway and as a result of the regeneration programme, it now offers fantastic business accommodation.”

Glamal supplies to the oil and gas, petrochemical and water industries and its Runcorn site will service contracts with companies, including Shell and Amec.
